I have booked seats using my Festival pass/accreditation pass/5-entries card/daily pass/invitation, but I haven't received my tickets. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal because our ticketing system does not issue your tickets as electronic files if you book them with one of the above passes/invitations. . The system generates a code for each booking made using your TicketID and stores on it on your pass/invitation.

Because your bookings are linked to this TicketID, all you need to do is show the QR code on your pass/invitation to FIFF staff before entering the screening.

You can view your seat bookings in your online FIFF account (registration required) or in the FIFF app.

Why do I have to give my full contact details when buying a ticket?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FIFF is required to put a prevention and control plan in place. This includes track-and-trace measures, which is why we need your contact details. Rest assured that we will not share your personal information with third parties.

In the interests of public health, the Festival wants to keep physical contact to a minimum. This is why the Festival ticket offices will not open until Friday 16 July, i.e. the opening of the Festival.

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS

Why do I have to choose a seat when I buy a ticket?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FIFF is required to put a prevention and control plan in place. This includes social distancing measures. In the interests of audience safety, FIFF will therefore use numbered seating this year.

You will be able to book a seat when buying your ticket. The same applies to group bookings. For example, if you are buying tickets for four people for the same screening, then you can book four seats next to each other.

For social distancing reasons and as a matter of courtesy, we kindly request that you sit in the seats you have booked.

My friends and I want to sit together. Can I choose adjacent seats after I have bought the tickets?

No. The numbered seats you choose at the time of booking cannot be changed. Due to our prevention and control plan, our computerised booking system automatically leaves seats empty between different bookings.

If you want to sit with your family and friends, you need to make a group booking. Of course, you can book multiple seats for the same screening when you are buying your tickets. For example, if you are buying tickets for four people for the same screening, you can then choose four seats next to each other.

For social distancing reasons and as a matter of courtesy, we kindly request that you sit in the seats you have booked.

TICKET CHECKS

Do I have to print out my tickets/pass and are there ticket checks?

If you use a smartphone, there is no need to print out your tickets, Festival pass, 5-entries Pass or Daily Pass. With the booking page open, show your smartphone to FIFF staff so that they scan the QR code.

To make it easier for you, we recommend downloading the FIFF app and setting up an account. Your tickets, passes and seat bookings will be stored on the app, which means that you will be able to access them quickly before each screening.

I have a discounted ticket. Do I need to show proof of eligibility?

Yes, regardless of the discount you have received, you will be asked to show proof of eligibility before each screening.

  • Discounted tickets
The following proof of eligibility must be presented to staff before entering the screening: members or Friends of the Festival Association, OASI/DI card, apprentices, students, unemployed.
  • CarteCulture
You will be asked to show your CarteCulture card.
  • BCF Maestro card holders
You will be asked to show your BCF Maestro card before entering the screening.
  • TPF (Frimobil)
You will be asked to show your Swisspass and the Frimobil email with the discount offers before entering the screening.
  • Club en Liberté
You will be asked to show your Club en Liberté before entering the screening.

Is there free seating?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FIFF is required to put a prevention and control plan in place. This is why we will be using allocated seating this year. You will be able to choose your seat when buying your ticket. The same applies to group bookings, i.e. you have to a book a seat for each ticket.

Your seat number is shown on your ticket. For social distancing reasons and as a matter of courtesy, we kindly request that you sit only in the seats you have booked. This in the interests of not only your safety but also the safety of the other audience members.
