Ibrahima Dieng is plunged into a maze of bureaucracy when he tries to cash a money order from his cousin. The film, which touches on several themes including colonialism and post-colonial identity, is based on the director's own novel and earned him the Jury Prize at Venice. It is also the first West African film shot entirely in an African language.
