Cérémonie clôture FIFF 2024

With great pleasure and honour, we introduce to you the jurys members of FIFF 2025.

International Jury: Feature Films

ASHA MAGRATI, Nepal
Actress and producer Asha Magrati is a formative figure in contemporary Nepalese cinema. The 2017 film White Sun, in which she plays the lead, won four awards at FIFF. Her latest film, Pooja, Sir, appears on this year's Genre Cinema line-up.

CHRISTIAN LUTZ, Switzerland
Twice named ‘Swiss Photographer of the Year’, Christian Lutz has won some fifteen awards for his documentary work. His approach to the theme of power, based on close observation of societal dynamics, has led to exhibitions around the world, including at the Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles and the Musée de l'Élysée.

ANNA PIERI ZUERCHER, Switzerland
Actress and professional pianist, Anna Pieri Zuercher has built an impressive film, TV and stage career. Originally from Biel, she has appeared in numerous crime series, including Hors Saison (shown at FIFF 2022) and the German-language cult police procedural Tatort.

International Jury: Short Films

ALEXANDRE O. PHILIPPE, Switzerland/USA
Director Alexandre O. Philippe is a sharp analyst of modern mythologies like Monument Valley and the shower scene in Psycho. For the eighth time in 15 years, he returns to FIFF with a documentary on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (winner of Best Documentary at Venice 2024).

SARAH SPALE, Switzerland
After multiple nominations over her career, Basel-born actress Sarah Spale finally won the Swiss Film Award in 2021 for her performance in Pierre Monnard's Platzspitzbaby. She worked with Monnard again on Wilder, a TV police procedural in which she plays a detective.

TAMER RUGGLI, Switzerland
Since graduating from ECAL and the New York Film Academy, the Swiss-Egyptian director and screenwriter has won numerous awards for his shorts from prestigious film festivals like Los Angeles and Palm Springs. His ability to weave intimate narratives which draw on his Egyptian heritage are on full display in his first feature, Retour en Alexandrie.
