
The Festival chose to give its main awards despite its cancellation. The juries for feature and short films were able to watch the movies of the competitions at home and deliberated in video conference.

FIFF would like to thank wholeheartedly the members of the jurys for accepting to fill their task despite a very complicated lockdown situation.
The members of the jury for the International competition: Short films – Julie Hugo, Michael Frei, and the president Mélanie Croubalian – award the prize for Best international short film which is sponsored by Clinique Générale Ste-Anne. It comes with a cash prize of CHF 7500.- given out to the director of the awarded movie.
The members of the jury for the International competition: Feature FIlms – comprising Swiss French actor Elodie Bordas, Uruguayan filmmaker Alvaro Brechner and Rwandan director Joel Karekezi
and presided over by Haitian filmmaker Guetty Felin – give two prizes of this competition. First the Jury Special Award, with a cash prize of CHF 10'000 sponsored by Groupe E. And, last but not least, the FIFF 2020 Grand Prix with a cash prize of CHF 30'000 sponsored by both the Canton and the City of Fribourg.
FIFF gives a great thank you to its partners for making it possible to award the filmmakers.
