The Republic of Niger was one of the first African country to create a film industry. Moustapha Alassane and Oumarou Ganda were the first filmmakers and Zalika Souley the first woman to accept to act in front of a camera. Screened in Cannes in 2005, Al'lèèssi (which means “a destiny” in the Sonrhay language) recounts, in an ordinary day, the history of the pioneers of African cinema.
