Sent to Egypt during the First World War, British officer Thomas Edward Lawrence headed to the heart of the desert to persuade various tribes to put aside their differences and rise up against the Ottoman Empire. His goal: to see a modern, independent Arab state emerge. This sumptuous adventure film, made to be seen on the big screen, won seven Oscars in 1963.
