The 30th anniversary of Hyènes is an opportunity to compare it with another film adaptation of one of Switzerland's best known literary works. This 1964 German, French, Italian and US co-production stars Ingrid Bergman and Anthony Quinn, and its Swiss director Bernhard Wicki was nominated for a Palme d'or at Cannes.
