A prescient film about the tabloid press. For his first American film, British director Alexander Mackendrick brought in Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis for a merciless clash between two monstrous characters: the first, an arrogant and sarcastic journalist, prepared to crush the people of New York and the other, a deplorable press agent who would stoop to any low to succeed.
