North America has succumbed to its demons and is now a totalitarian state. The army meets little resistance when it seizes control. Children are considered the property of the state and imprisoned. To get her daughter back, Niska, a young Cree woman, joins a group of revolutionary rebels. An electrifying dystopian tale and a fine example of Canadian genre filmmaking at its best.
