Set in 1950s Paris in the chic quarter of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the film follows Bob, a talented science student whose life is transformed when he meets Alain, a young bohemian, freeloading record dealer who introduces him to his circle of idle, well-off friends. Bob will soon discover that in this world, love is a taboo subject.
