This film, which won at Venice in 2023 and is North Macedonia’s 2024 Oscar entry, centres on Dita, a reluctant single mother to her girlfriend’s children. Through its exploration of the universal truths of family, it offers a harsh yet funny and touching portrait of a society marked by deep-rooted homophobia and disdain for its Roma communities.
