The director’s first feature, and the first ever Trinidadian film to be selected for competition at the FIFF, this historical drama is based on the novel of the same name by local author Michael Anthony. Set in Trinidad in 1952, the story depicts the tumultuous love life of a young man whose heart is torn and who, going against his father’s wishes, agrees to work on a plantation run by an Indian man.
