Although the film was not a commercial success, he received enthusiastic reviews. Based on the novel Kattel sir ko chotpatak by Dr. Dhruba Chandara Gautam, Basudev was the directorial debut of Nir Shah, a pioneer actor and filmmaker from Nepal. RKP
