The audience chose the five whodunit films for the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF). They gave their verdict using the online vote that took place in October. The sentence is lenient: the five culprits will be screened during the 2025 edition of FIFF (from 21st to 30th March) and will form the Genre Cinema: Aucience Choice section.
For the fifth year in a row, FIFF invited the greatest known artistic committee – that is, its audience – to choose five films to screen during its 39th edition. People who took part could vote for their five favourite films among a preselection of fifty picked out according to the theme of the Genre Cinema: Murders and Mysteries section.
It is with great pleasure – and a certain eagerness to see them on the Festival’s silver screens – that FIFF announces here the five culprits:
The Silence of the Lambs, by Jonathan Demme (USA, 1991)
Voted in by a third of the participants!Se7en, by David Fincher (USA, 1995)
Vertigo, by Alfred Hitchcock (USA, 1958)
8 Women, by François Ozon (France, 2002)
Rear Window, by Alfred Hitchcock (USA, 1954)
They will be screened on the silver screen from 21st to 30th March 2025 at FIFF (add the event to your agenda)
