The screenplay of Hyènes is by far the most remarkable screenplay that I got to read throughout my career. An integral read-aloud of this long poem of Djibril Diop Mambéty, by the actor Frank Semelet, will create I am sure a superb moment of grace and communion, which may give desire to all the present listeners, as it happened to me in 1988, to one day see this film on the screen. A universal work, between times and continents, full of striking sentences: "Here I am, mother of nobody. I am the one who proposes the deal. And I dictate my conditions. The world made a whore of me, now I shall make a whorehouse of the world.”
