Parviz was a huge hit at San Sebastián in 2012, earning the New Director’s Special Mention Award. Although the film was screened at some 30 film festivals, few cinemas have shown it. More’s the pity because it packs a real punch. It tells the story of a middle-aged man whose days of sponging off his father are numbered when the patriarch remarries.
