The competitions of short and feature films are the centrepiece of the FIFF programme. Our selection criteria are simple. Feature films must be from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe. As for short films, the filmmakers must come from a country that is eligible for OECD official development assistance. When it comes to the crunch, our choices are made from the heart not the head.
The 39th edition of Fribourg International Film Festival is over. We look forward to seeing you from 20th to 29th March 2026 for the 40th edition. You can already prepare your participation to the Festival.
