To tell what never was: uchrony
The little known concept of “uchrony” brings together a set of narratives which are based on an alternative history: what would have happened if the Germans won World War II? Or if the invincible Armada had reached the English coasts? The goal of this conference is to recall the origins of these stories, but also their functioning and the interpretations that can be drawn from them. In other words one question will be central: why should one tell what will never happen?
