
The 1920s, during the Japanese occupation of Korea. A Korean police captain working for the Japanese has to dismantle a resistance network. After going to Hollywood to make a Schwarzenegger film (The Last Stand, 2012), Kim Jee-woon quickly returned to the freedom he enjoys in South Korea. There he made this impressive thriller selected by the Mostra di Venezia in 2016.
