This feature film, which competed at Cannes in 2007, documents an unlikely friendship in post-genocide Rwanda. Munyurangabo is a Tutsi who lost both his parents. Sangwa is a Hutu, whose family strongly disapproves of the relationship. Rwandans have fond memories of the Korean-American director; regrettably, the same cannot be said of other foreign filmmakers. The film is testament to his sincerity.
