This feature film, which competed at Cannes in 2007, documents an unlikely friendship in post-genocide Rwanda. Munyurangabo is a Tutsi who lost both his parents. Sangwa is a Hutu, whose family strongly disapproves of the relationship. Rwandans have fond memories of the Korean-American director; regrettably, the same cannot be said of other foreign filmmakers. The film is testament to his sincerity.

Yari mu zatoranyijwe i Cannes muri 2007, iyi filime y’ibitarabayeho ivuga ku bucuti budasanzwe nyuma ya jenocide. Munyurangabo ni umututsi wiciwe umuryango. Sangwa ni umuhutu ariko umuryango we ntureba neza ubwo bucuti. Uwakoze iyi filime akomoka muri Koreya y’epfo akaba n’umunyamerika.
