In 2006 Bhutan is on the cusp of becoming a democracy. Officials are busily familiarising the people (who never asked for this change) with the new setup. As the transition nears, an old lama asks a monk to get him a pair of rifles. The film, which is Bhutan’s 2024 Oscar entry, wittily charts the historic event that will challenge Bhutanese innocence.
