There is more than football and the Olympic Games this Summer 2024. There are fortunately FIFF events as well. The team of Fribourg International Film Festival invites you to meet them on two occasions.
Football and cinema, Monday 8th July
The two partner restaurants of our Festival – Café des Grand-Places and Les Trentenaires – collaborate to run a fan zone in the city center of Fribourg. The pop-up establishment “Chez Claudy” is located in the Grand-Places park, next to the Jean Tinguely fountain. FIFF was invited to screen films on Monday 8th July.
Three films will be shown in French that evening. The access is free for all three. The first is the one that inspired the name of the fan zone (Claudy being one of the main character of the film), the two other are classic French football films.
18:00 Dikkenek, by Olivier Van Hoofstadt, with François Damiens, Marion Cotillard and Mélanie Laurent
20:00 Coup de tête, by Jean-Jacques Annaud, with Patrick Dewaere
22:00 À Mort l’arbitre, by Jean-Pierre Mocky, with Michel Serrault and Eddy Mitchell
The Audience Award winner in open air
The open air cinema Fribourg takes hold of the Belluard medieval fortress from 17th July to 15th August. On Tuesday 30th July, the audience can watch in that beautiful location the Nepalese film The Monk and the Gun by Pawo Choyning Dorji who won the Audience Award at FIFF 2024. A member of FIFF will introduce the movie.
Tickets
The Festival team is looking forward to meeting with their audience in numbers on both occasions.
