Hong Kong, in the 1960s. Yuddy is a young charmer, raised like a prince by his adoptive mother. A narcissist, he leads a spoiled life. He goes from the arms of one girl to another and runs away at the first intimation of marriage. He is driven by one obsession: to discover his origins. He leaves everything to go in search of his Filipino past. The film marked the director’s emergence in the eyes of the world and In the Mood for Love is its quasi-sequel.
