The FIFF was keen to host the Fribourg première for this striking film that was shot here in the city and which transcends a real drama: the suicide of a secondary school student. Selected for Venice, in the Critics’ Week section, Katharina Wyss has one eye on genre film, with similarities to Brian de Palma’s Carrie. And she is backed up by a revelatory performance by the stunning Loane Balthasar. Fribourg inspires great films.
