Early 20th century. A little girl who is not yet born narrates the last day of three women, descendants of slaves, who are isolated on the islands off the south coast of the United States, before their migration to the north of the country. A masterpiece of Black American independent cinema, Daughters of the Dust has left its mark on several generations, to the point where Beyoncé paid it a tribute in her film-album Lemonade.
