A former champion wrestler (played by a real-life Olympic wrestling champion in the 1970s) leaves Tbilisi to visit his son Soso in Brooklyn. But the young man is not enrolled in medical school, as he claimed. Instead, he lives in a dingy boarding house and works as a removals man to pay off his debts to a local mob boss. The director unpacks this father-son relationship with warmth and humour.
