Berger’s second feature, which won the Special Jury Prize at San Sebastián in 2012 and took many other festivals by storm, catapulted him to fame. His sublimely poetic Snow White adaptation takes extraordinary liberties with the source material. Set in 1920s Andalusia, it features bullfighting and flamenco, is filmed in black and white, and has no spoken dialogue.
