In Tehran, a man is being prosecuted for impersonating a famous filmmaker. Abbas Kiarostami completely blurs the line between fact and fiction by showing both the real trial and a re-enactment in which the accused plays himself. Close-Up fundamentally questions the nature of cinema and of truth, and has rightfully earned its place in the canon of contemporary cinema.
