The Da Huang Network

The Tiger Factory

Spotlight on the Malaysian New Wave

While to the general astonishment David Fincher’s The Social Network walks off with a few prices in Hollywood, Malaysian cinema tallies more than one “I like” on Facebook (15Malaysia). Da Huang Pictures brought together filmmakers, producers and actors in their thirties who very quickly understood that networking could apply to something other than computing. They come to present their films (Village People Radio Show, Flower in the Pocket) and show that low-cost production does not prevent them from competing with the masses of pirated blockbusters available on the Kuala Lumpur markets. To discover and to “like”!
