Wang Bing wins the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Festival with his impressive documentary Mrs. Fang. His talent to demonstrate a contemporary China could be seen in Fribourg several times before: In 2008 he won two awards with Fengming: A Chinese Memoir. With Three Sisters in 2013, he got four awards, including the Regard d'or and Til Madness Do Us Part was in 2014 in the International Competition: Feature Films.
According to Lav Diaz (Golden Leopard in 2014 and awarded in 2006 in Fribourg), it is the second time in recent years that Locarno pays homage to a well-known filmmaker and friend of the FIFF.
